Field tapes are the recordings before the studio — a room with a piano, a forest at 4 a.m., a generator humming in a barn. We release them as they landed, hiss and all.
How they're made
source a real place, one or two mics level set once, never touched mastering none — this is the point format digital + a limited cassette run
Why we do it
The hiss is the room's breath. Take it out and you've got a clean recording of nowhere.
